Praying for others based on the belief that God accomplishes His purposes through intercession.
Prayer MinistryThe First Baptist Prayer Ministry is an organized ministry of prayer for others based on the belief that God accomplishes His purposes through intercession. This ministry is the foundation of all our other ministries and is at the heart of our people. Prayer enables us to support our community, nation, and world.
How Does the Prayer Ministry Work?Intercessors spend one hour per week in one of the Prayer rooms located in our prayer house. Intercessors pray for many requests concerning all areas of the church, church members, and other needs from the community, nation, and world. Time is also spent writing notes of encouragement, called Prayer-grams, to those prayed for that day. The goal for this ministry is continuous intercession 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
Who can participate in this Ministry?Any member of Simpsonville First Baptist who is 18 years or above and feels a calling by God to make a difference in His Kingdom.
How Does the Prayer House Work?Intercessors who have made a commitment and attended an orientation session will have access to the Prayer House. Participants sign up and reserve an individual prayer room that will allow them the privacy and quiet needed for their weekly prayer time.
